Hump-day always calls for flirting with the line between office appropriate and just barely dressed for work.

Jeans, a polo and a sweatshirt probably wouldn’t fly in most dapper guys work wardrobes; but I will choose comfort over conformity in the majority of situations. (at NewActon Precinct)

Last week I spent Tuesday evening at Raku with the Canberra Centre, listening to musings and wisdom provided at the Men’s Tech, Trends and Tailoring Masterclass.

The evening was emceed by Ashley Feraude, and the conversation between Men’s Health Magazine editor, Luke Benedictus and founder and editor of The Versatile Gent, James Want; was equally informative and entertaining.

I left the event with a renewed determination to buy myself a pair of R.M. Williams boots, and a new cologne on my Wishlist. Seriously- the scent of ‘Speakeasy’ has been HAUNTING me since the event!

If you’ve never attended one of the Canberra Centre’s Masterclass events I strongly encourage you to check them out. I have never attended one where I haven’t walked away with fresh ideas. (at RAKU)

Australian natives are hardy. The frost doesn’t bother them at all, while all the imported species wilt and die around them. They’re dinosaur plants- spiky, woody and unfriendly.

Theirs is the sort of beauty we should all aspire to: timeless, savage, with no fucks given. (at Canberra, Australian Capital Territory)

I’m thinking warm thoughts as the weather continues to drop and the battle with the morning frost becomes a daily occurrence.

I love winter and the cold weather - but this tonsillitis is still lingering and I really need a bit of a boost in morale.

A couple of rainy, overcast days this weekend would perk me right up… just saying. (at Mee’s Sushi)

I’ve got a tsunami inside of me.
Well, on my sweatshirt at least. It’s a reproduction of ‘The Great Wave Off Kanagawa’ by Hokusai, which spills out across the sweatshirt fabric in multiple directions in white ink against a navy background.

I think the tsunami represents the rollicking, unsettled week that I had last week, and quite frankly how I’ve been feeling about 2018 so far.

But, every wave breaks eventually. (at Canberra, Australian Capital Territory)

I wish I could claim some sort of motivational, self-improvement goal as the impetus for this morning’s trot around the ponds - alas, it’s just because of the new PokémonGo update. (at Dunlop Ponds)

It has been a big week for me so today I am taking it easy and indulging in a little rest and relaxation.

Though if I post another selfie like this y’all might have to call someone to come and forcibly evict me from my bed… (at Dunlop)

I spent today in presentation training at work, and it got me thinking about the power of language, especially with regard to how I speak to myself.

Language is actually integral to how we understand ourselves and the world around us. I will admit that I am guilty of talking fairly poorly to myself generally, and in a fairly limiting manner.

I’m not saying that I am going to become an overnight sensation by cutting myself some slack; but I am going to experiment with how I talk about my life to myself, and see what happens. (at Canberra, Australian Capital Territory)

This Levi’s jacket is a classic example of a wardrobe STAPLE. It has only been mine for a little over six months now; but it is the perfect vintage condition to make every outfit that little bit special.

What is even better is that it is a live-in memory. Whenever I put it on I think about my week living in Shimokitazawa last November. Vintage shopping every day. Drowning myself in Matcha frappes and Japanese beer.

I love getting to relive those moments so regularly. (at Canberra, Australian Capital Territory)
